Hi, nice post !
Do you know why we can´t enable DirectPath I/O on RedHat 6 X64 servers?
We have all memory reserved, but even that way it won´t goes to enable.
Our windows 2008 Enterprise servers are working fine with DirectPath I/O plus Performace Monde on UCS DVS.
Tks
Gustavo
Hi Gustavo
The fact that you have your Windows servers working correctly it sounds like a RHEL optimisation is missing somewhere.
Try working through the below doc
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/solutions/collateral/ns340/ns517/ns224/ns944/basic_troubleshooting_vm_fex_ns1124_Networking_Solutions_White_Paper.html
If still no joy contact TAC
Regards
Colin
I would venture to say that the RHEL6 Guest needs to have vmtools installed. DirectPath will not be enable without vmtools for linux installed on the RHEL6 OS.
